Today is Saturday morning. My day of rest, relaxation and off the Dachshund poop-picking-up detail until Monday!
With three Dachshunds, you get three times the production of the little stuff that needs to get picked up just about everyday. Thank goodness they’re housebroken!
When we only had Chloe, the happy moment of cleaning up took place once a week, the morning the gardener came to mow the lawn and blow a few leaves around. Chloe is really good about doing her business in the privacy of the bushes, so it was never a big chore cleaning up after her.
But with Odie and Molly, they like to do it on the patio and sidewalk where everyone can see it (or if they can’t see it, step in it). So cleaning up becomes a necessity.
I still like my once a week cleaning schedule, but my wife convinced me that it should be done everyday. With a little negotiation, it’s now a Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning operation and she would take care of the weekends.
Today is Saturday! Tomorrow is Sunday! It could be my imagination, but I really think these Dachshunds poop more on Sunday night than during the rest of the week.

Every six months or so, we stop in Solvang to pick up a few gifts, eat lots of Arnie’s Famous Aebleskivers and stop in next door at Berengaria to see what new Dachshund goodies to buy.
Besides the dachshund coffee cups, pillows, pictures, books, dachshund bank, they carry a really good line of women’s cloths. This is one store I don’t mind shopping at with my wife because I usually find something for me or the Three Doxies.
After spending the day shopping for gifts in town, we stopped by a market to get some fruits and veggies for dinner. Originally we thought it was a “Farmer’s Market” where we could pick up some local produce, but it was just a local grocery store.
Solvang must have tons of Doxie owners for a smaller grocery store to carry Royal Canin Dachshund 28 dog food. I’ve never heard of the brand before but Royal Canin has some impressive dachshund information on how to improve your dog’s health.
We picked up a bag and so far all our doxies like it! Chloe and Molly whom never eat dry food gobbled it up like they haven’t eaten all day. The only bad thing about food is that it hard to find in our area. Luckily, we can get Dachshund 28 online at PETCO.

Last week it’s was cold in Thousand Oaks, and Odie needed a new coat. He’s was shivering in the morning basically because he’s been sleeping under the warm covers.
During the day he usually sleeps under his blankie keeping warm during the cold day when the heat is turned off.
His favorite blankie is also Chloe’s favorite for “burying her ball.” She usually ends up tearing holes in the blanket or anything else she tries to bury underneath it. (This is good since now our son picks up his clothes to prevent the holes Chloe puts in it.)
Last Friday, Odie couldn’t wait for us to put on his hoodie, so he decided to make a Doxie Capote out of his blanket. My wife got home that night only to find Odie with his head and a leg poking thru the hole Chloe chewed in the blanket.
Who knows how long he was like that. We are very fortunate Odie did not hurt himself.
Bad dog Chloe! Bad Daddy, you need to train Chloe better.
