PETsMARTGoing for a ride usually means we’re going to get something to eat or going to get something to play with. When I say “who wants to ride to ‘Smart?” the first Doxie that comes running is the one who gets to go and pick out the toy.

Needless to say, is always on the ball and gets to pick out the toy. Chloe would like you to save $10 on your next trip to PetSmart. Click on that banner and you’ll get a special coupon code you can enter with your order to save some money.

One Hungry Dachshund

1/1/2007
By: Dachshund Lover

dsc_0051-odie-hungryWhen Odie is hungry, he’ll go and get one of his dinner plates that we usually forget to pick up the night before.

In this case, he was playing Frisbee with it … tossing it up and down trying to get my attention. He finally stopped after he ripped the Dixie plate into shreds.

Why Do Doxies think Everything Round is a Ball?

Doxies new ballOdie wakes up for a squshyMolly with intense look at her squshIt says not a toy for doxiesAre you a little stressed out? Perhaps a Sqush is just the thing you need. It’s about the size of a tennis ball … perfect for a Dachshund to rip to shreds.

I picked up one Saturday to relieve some stress and pain I’ve been having in my wrists. It actually reduces the pain two ways: squeezing the sqush flexes the muscles around the wrist plus you can use it as a mouse pad to get that correct ergonimic position.

I just can’t leave the sqush out unattended. After using as mouse pad or squeezing the sqush, I’ll leave in on top of the desk. If I walk away for a moment, Molly or Odie will hop up on my chair and grab it.

Of course they think it’s just a toy. Can’t they read yet? It clearly says it’s not a toy for children under the age of 5…

Odie Gives Two Paws Up to Giggler Dog Balls

5/14/2005
By: Dachshund Lover

Last night we just received our Giggler Dog Ball from PETsMART.com and Odie is obsessed with it. For the first time in his three dog years, he turned down dinner just to play with it. He doesn’t want to share the new toy with Chloe and Molly. The Giggler Dog Ball is made out of thick rubber and makes gurgling sounds when you toss it or shake it. We ordered the small 2 ¾ inch blue ball for $6.99. It looks like a wiener. Two paws up from Odie!

Two Doxies Playing Ball

4/20/2005
By: Dachshund Lover

Odie and Molly Playing BallOdie and Molly love playing ball together. Molly hasn’t caught on that she’s suppose to fetch the ball and return it yet, so she just chases Odie when he fetches the ball and trys to take it from him. Molly has a ferocious growl when she’s playing tug-a-war with Odie especially when they’re fighting over their red-white-blue and yellow rubber dog ball.

I’m not sure how I managed to capture those two weiner dogs in action with their favorite ball since they’re always a blur on camera.

Those Squeaky Dog Balls

4/13/2005
By: Dachshund Lover

Vinyl Dog Balls are Chloe and Odie’s favorite dog toys. We used to buy expensive toys but found that both dogs favor the inexpensive 99-cent balls over the more expensive ones. Once a month we pick up two or three new balls that they go crazy over. It must be that new vinyl smell. We buy all our dog balls at PETsMART since they tend to have the best selection.

Chloe is very passive and will give up the ball to Odie except when it’s new. She’ll protect that ball like it’s her newborn pup. Once the newness wears off she’ll start playing with Odie again.
